TEMPEST EMI POWER LINE FILTERS - COMPACT

TEMPEST is an acronym for “Telecommunications and Electrical Machinery Protected from Emanations Security”.

Tempest EMI Power Line Filters are high performance filters which reduce general EMI noise and, more specifically, low level noise that may contain sensitive and/or classified information.

We have an extensive line of Tempest Filters, rated for 100dB attenuation specifically designed for SECURED FACILITIES.

Premier’s standard compact Tempest EMI Power Line Filters are rated for AC voltages to 277/480VAC and DC Voltages to 400VDC. All Tempest EMI Power Line Filters are designed and manufactured in the USA in our Southern California facility.

FAQ

TEMPEST is a U.S. government codename (not an acronym) that refers to standards and practices for controlling unintentional electromagnetic emissions from electronic equipment. These emissions could otherwise be intercepted and used to reconstruct sensitive or classified information.

In TEMPEST applications, EMI filters prevent conducted and radiated emissions from escaping through power and signal lines. These filters are engineered to provide extremely high insertion loss across a wide frequency range.

In secure environments such as SCIFs, filters are often required to achieve up to 100 dB attenuation from approximately 14 kHz to 40 GHz, ensuring sensitive signals cannot be reconstructed from electromagnetic leakage.
